A nonet poem is a syllabic formula poem with  nine lines on any subject-rhyming optional.

line 1 - 9 syllables
line 2 - 8 syllables
line 3 - 7 syllables
line 4 - 6 syllables
line 5 - 5 syllables
line 6 - 4 syllables
line 7 - 3 syllables
line 8 - 2 syllables
line 9 - 1 syllables

Oh! Sing to me my sweet nightingale
Melodies from distant mountains
Refrains from yonder hill tops
Harmonies from the plains
Rhythms of the seas
Lull me to sleep
Nightingale
With your
Song

Today's Haiku

Haiku Heights April A to Z: Nightingale

Nightingale sings
Many sweet lullabies
Dreaming on clouds

Carpe Diem: Small Mountain

Small mountains rise
From reddened thirsty plains
Seeking rain clouds

  2. Beautifully done poems, I especially like the nonet and how smoothly it flowed. So often such restrictions make a poem feel forced, and yours didn't. It was very nice!
