Cicadas Hum

standing tall
eerie buzzing drums
looking left
looking right
my lab won’t budge from the step
while cicadas hum

hills of green

Hill of Tara, Ireland

hills of green
calling to my soul
learn magic
feel magic
visit your ancestors’ land
if only i could

Shadorma poem posted for dVerse's prompt – it’s not easy being green.

Spring Time Please

Winter chills
I can bear no more
Come to me
Spring time please
Impatiently I await
Flowers and sunshine

This concludes my 21 days of poetry (not including all the extra haikus). I will continue the poetry writing, but my time will be limited. The past three weeks have allowed me to develop a creative poetry habit and to explore different forms of poetry. I think my favorite are the Triolet andVillanelle. Perhaps once Spring classes are over I will attempt this again in the summer for a longer period.

Could You Love?

"What if I'm A Mermaid in These Jeans.."
Art by Michael Cordova. ©

Could you love,
   -a beautiful girl?
Stuck at sea,
   -all her life?
What if I am a mermaid,
 -half woman, half fish?
