Haiku: Risshun (coming of Spring)

March in like a lamb
So goes the coming of Spring
Out like a lion

March out like a lamb

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Rainbow Colors

I have for you today a painting I painted late last summer at one of those vino classes during a girls night out. I didn't exactly follow the instructions and so my painting turned to have purple flowers instead of blue and looks to have a background of fire instead of that blurred.Colors: Yellow, Orange, Red, Violet

Tuesday Haiku

Strangers meet
Beneath shimmering lights
Secrets shared

A signal red rose
Says pass on by to the spy
Secrets wait to bloom

Haiku: Caterpillar

"Stupid girl."
The hookah smoke asks,
"Who are you?"

Forgotten Flowers

Summer’s promising starlets
Dancing for water
Singing out for salvation
Forgotten flowers

Beneath the hot sun spotlight
Writhing white petals
Summer’s promising starlets

A garden mirage
The flower gypsies create
Dancing for water

Beckoning your attention
To hear their voices
Singing out for salvation

Victims of the heat
Sway to the summer’s swan song
Forgotten flowers

Full Snow Moon

Snow moon rises high
Warmth of family and friends calls
Sending chills away

February Full Moon Dream Board: The Full Snow Moon asks, “What desires lie deep within?”
Who doesn't desire to seek warmth with family and friends as the chilly winds winter winds howl, or maybe we've been hibernating all winter long, as the weather warms we can venture out and see our friends again.

Mermaid Wishes

i
wish
to be
more than this
more than just mermaid
trapped swimming beneath the sea waves
i wish to walk among the gardens of royalty
i wish to dance to the music of drum and guitar
to sing with the birds in spring time
bathe in the warm sun
with my all
heart soul
i

The Sunday Mini-Challenge ~ 14-Liners
Today's 14 liner challenge from 'the imaginary garden with real toads' doesn't necessarily have to be a sonnet, which I'm no good at, so I have for you a 14 line Fibonacci sequence. The first 14 lines follow the Fibonacci sequence syllable wise, and the next 7 follow the sequence in reverse. 1/1/2/3/5/8/13/13/8/5/3/2/1/1

Excalibur Rise

Hear our troubled cries
Excalibur rise
Tonight
Great Merlin the wise
is pleased to advise
the fight
Against enemy lies
infiltrating spies

To join our allies
We take to the skies
last light
A hero's reprise
no time for goodbyes
good knight
Excalibur rise
Hear our troubled cries

That's why the tramp is a lady

I get too hungry, for the latest diet fad
I don’t go to the store scantily clad
I never bother with the raving mad
That's why the tramp is a lady

I don't like to make a scene and a fuss
Won't throw my friends under the bus
Won't throw a tantrum and cuss
That's why the tramp is a lady

I like to dress nice and wear makeup
Just a little
I'm pale, it's OK
Hate all the drama, theatrical dustup
That's why the tramp is a lady

With all the crazy realty TV of so-called high society acting all crazy, I thought it fitting to twist this classic song, The Lady is a Tramp, which at the time was commentary of the snobbish high society be too goody-goody. How far we've fallen. My favorite version is by my favorite singer, Miss Ella Fitzgerald:
