An oddquain poem, is an interesting form of poetry of 17 syllables like the haiku, but in five lines, not three, with syllable counts of 1, 3, 5, 7, 1. There are also many different variations or combinations of the oddquain poem.
oddquain sequences - poems made up of oddquain stanzas
crown oddquains - a five stanza oddquain sequence
reverse oddquains - a oddquain with a reverse syllable pattern of 1-7-5-3-1
mirror oddquains - a two stanza oddquain sequence of the pattern 1-3-5-7-1 1-7-5-3-1
oddquain butterflies - a “merged mirror oddquain” 1-3-5-7-1-7-5-3-1.
I have for you today the oddquian butterfly variation.

Today's Haiku
Haiku Heights April A to Z: Owl
Owls hoot through the night
Awake 'til Dawn's early light
Come back nightingale
I liked each one of it
ReplyDeleteIf I were an owl, I don't think I'd hoot through the night. I'd soon get weary of hearing my own voice!
