Pale Pink Petaled Tears

weeping cherry mourns
for the souls of lost children
watching o'er their graves
as they pass through heaven's gates
shedding pale pink petaled tears

blossom haze of tears
comforting grieving parents
not crying alone

A tanka for Carpe Diem Imagination #4, Weeping Cherry and a haiku for Carpe Diem #152, Hanagumori (Blossom Haze) and Haiku Friday.

Please teach me!

Please teach me!
Don’t shut me away
Don’t hurt me
Just teach me
Mathematics and science
The ways of the world

Today We Scream

March has been set aside by Woman Scream International Poetry Festival as the month to raise awareness through poetry about violence against women.

Woman Scream states their mission is to honor women and create a conscious calling against women’s violence for a culture of peace and to take self-esteem messages to women through artistic expression and poetry.

I'm a little late in joining the toads in screaming, but better late than never in this case.

Lover's Rendezvous

Kisses down the neck
Leaving a trail of passion
As lips explore more
Black lace slides down over thighs
Tongued passion by candlelight

ancient stones

ancient stones stand guard
meteors light the night sky
spirit wind whispers
chilling tales of warriors' charge
battles long forgotten
