Blogging From A to Z April Challenge 2013: The Big Reveal

In addition to Haiku Heights' April Haiku Challenge that will be following the A to Z theme,  I be explore different poetry forms A to Z not repeating and not including haiku, I haven't decided yet if I will just give the basics of each form or also included a poem I write on each form. (Maybe I'll keep that to myself). If I do write a poem for each form, the post will include a bit about that form at least an example from someone else if I do not write one myself and the Haiku Heights Haiku of the day. I'll try to incorporate the haiku prompts into the poem I write-maybe-or relate the haiku to the other poem. The only letters I had trouble with were X and Y. As it stand now,Y is Yeats Inspired and X is either going to be X-shaped or X-rated unless someone as any legitimate ideas.

Alone

With a glimmer of hope in her eye,

     she waved the past good-bye,

and disappeared into the night.

     No one cared, no one gave a cry.

She searched the land for a white knight

     to set her future path aright.

Prayed someone would hear her heart’s call,

     but no man would hear her plight.

          Alone after all,

               she built up a wall;

Horse tail is the common term for a plant that is only living genus in Equisetaceae which reproduces from spores not seeds. Over one hundred million years ago the class Equisetopsida was much more diverse and dominated the late Paleozoic forests including large trees reaching 30 meters tall.

Posted for imaginary garden with real toads Sunday Challenge to write a poem telling me how you feel about clowns, parades, or endless snare drum-with-whistle music. If you have been in a parade, did you enjoy it? If you have ever been a clown, was it your choice? If so, why? 




I've been in many parades with girl scouts and as part of the marching band. My triolet poem is about being in the marching band which was a lot of fun despite being some serious business. We even had our own creed.



The Pride of Broke Arrow: The Pride Creed
Now here is the creed of the Pride
It’s true and blue as the sky.
All who believe is shall prosper
And those who deny it, pass by
Upon this field of dreams
We all receive our due,
For this is the only place
Where all our dreams come true.
As with all things most important,
It’s where our hearts and souls abide.
For the strength of the Pride is the member,
